1960s italian "c" chandelier
mazzega
glass, steel

Drop: 110cm / 133cm

Height: 57cm / 80cm

Width: 52cm

A large, 1960s modernist chandelier by Carlo Nasson for renowned Murano glass makers Mazzega.

Comprised of 96 individual interlocking glass pieces, it makes a wonderful statement.

With an outer and a lower hanging inner tier, both tiers comprised of 48 pieces, the thick textured glass diffuses the light beautifully.

It can also be arranged with a longer inner tier, with a height of 80cm, dropping to 133cm including the chain.

This configuration has 24 pieces in the other layer and 72 pieces in the centre.

Shown here with a chair to display the impressive height of this arrangement.

The glass pieces are held in place by a square steel frame. It takes three light bulbs, situated at different heights to illuminate the full length of the chandelier.

In excellent structural condition, the glass has no chips or cracks. The steel is slightly tarnished in keeping with age.
